Kristin Jenders

Career Pathways Manager

What is your background?

I majored in Marketing and General Business with an International Emphasis at UW Whitewater, but had what can only be described as an identity crisis my final year of school. I realized that I would not be satisfied in my career if I wasn't making a difference in the world around me. After volunteering and bothering every friend and contact that I had in the nonprofit sector I landed in a fundraising role at the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) in Milwaukee. I began working in special events, creating relationships and building out fundraising programs. I moved from there into a Communications Management role until my recent move to Higher Expectations.

What is your favorite thing to do in Racine County?

I volunteer on a goat farm in Burlington, until recently that is where I've spent the most time in Racine County.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A dinosaur-taming ballerina, but I have no rhythm.

What makes you excited to be a part of the Higher Expectations team?

I think the collective impact model is important to creating strong, successful outcomes. It's so exciting to be a part of such a strong model.

What's one thing you love that has nothing to do with work?

I love hiking, if I have a free day on the weekend in the spring through fall that's probably what I'm doing.
