Communications & Outreach Manager
What is your background?
I grew up in Wisconsin, then attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where I received a Bachelors in Journalism. After graduating, I accepted a position as an English Educator volunteer with Peace Corps - Madagascar, which ignited my love for community-based work. After returning from Madagascar, I spent some time working in a Milwaukee non-profit, Secure Futures, before I decided to return to school to get my Master’s degree in International Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I live in Racine with my partner, step-daughter, and our cat.
What is your favorite thing to do in Racine County?
I love the Racine County Zoo! We always make sure to say hello to Buster and Abby, the talkative parrot pair.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I grow up I want to be a non-fiction author...there is still time!
What makes you excited to be a part of the Higher Expectations team?
I am excited to be a part of a team that believes in collaborative action and is working hard to empower Racine county to reach its highest potential. Being new to Racine, I also love learning about Racine’s history and I’m thrilled to be a part of building a stronger, brighter future for Racine county!
What's one thing you love that has nothing to do with work?
I love the Harry Potter series! We are currently re-reading the series with our kiddo and it’s the highlight of my day.
