WHAT DO YOU DO AT HIGHER EXPECTATIONS?

In my role as the Communications Consultant, I support communications and marketing efforts at Higher Expectations. This helps improve economic mobility for Racine residents by expanding our reach and visibility in the community.

WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?

I grew up in northern rural Wisconsin and attended UW-Stevens Point where I majored in Communications. I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree at UW-Milwaukee, in the Cultural Foundations of Community Engagement and Education program. My career background is in higher education and nonprofit marketing and development. Outside of my work with Higher Expectations, I work in higher education admissions outreach. I also enjoy spending my time volunteering for suicide prevention organizations.

WHEN YOU WERE A KID, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?

I always wanted to be a veterinarian because of my love for animals. As I grew up, I had the goal of becoming an English teacher.

WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED TO BE A PART OF THE HIGHER EXPECTATIONS TEAM?

I’m excited to have the chance to work in the collective impact space, and continue connecting with the work I’m passionate about.

WHAT’S ONE THING YOU LOVE TO DO THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WORK?

I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends and pets. I also enjoy thrifting, playing video games, and reading.
